installed last year, first track event the engine spun a rod bearing. Installed a new IPP shortblock last fall and I'm in the process of finishing the break in and was getting some smoke under boost from the oil leaking on the turbine housing. All I can think of is that the turbos have been installed, removed and re-installed all in the space of about 9 months, a bolt was probably overtorqued or misaligned as I slotted out the stock oil return bolt holes to fit the Sport 530's and it may have been not enough for perfect thread engagement. Weird thing is I had no problems with oil leaks on the first install, so it must have happened on the second one.
The fun part is that I'm booked for a track day in early April, fully paid for and I have to get this sorted in the next two weeks. Welding and levelling the flange face is the solution, but I don't see this happening until after the track day. I'll try Bernie's fix tonight and run it hard over the weekend and see what happens.
